 Transfer Student Admission

Students who have attended other accredited institutions of higher learning may be admitted to the college by submitting:

1. A completed Northeast Mississippi Community College application for admission.

2. Official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended. Students who are academically suspended from a former college or university must seek admission through the admissions appeal process.

3. A transcript proving graduation from an approved and/or accredited high school or private academy, completion of an approved home school program or documentation of a passing score on the General Educational Development (GED) test. Students who have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours or credit with a 2.0 or higher grade point average (measured on a 4.0 scale) from a single college or university are exempt from this requirement.

4. Scores on the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

A maximum of 45 semester hours of transfer credit may be applied toward a degree program. For graduation, a minimum of one semester’s academic work (15 semester hours) must be completed in residence at Northeast in the last semester of enrollment. The Director of Admissions and Records informs transfer students of the amount of transfer credit that will be acceptable.
