*Tony Finch, Associate Vice President of Public Information
Tony Finch of Saltillo was recently promoted to the position of associate vice president of public information at Northeast Mississippi Community College.
A Northeast alumnus, Finch joined the college staff in September of 1988 as assistant public information officer. His responsibilities included handling all sports information duties and co-sponsoring student publications. He served as state adviser for the Mississippi Community/Junior College Press Association from 1996-1999. He was elected an honorary member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, the official honor society of the two-year college.
Finch takes over the position vacated by Barbara Shackelford, who served in that role from 1987 until her retirement in 2006.
A 1983 graduate of Booneville High School, Finch attended Northeast and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Mississippi State University in 1987.
Finch and his wife Dana have two children, Emily 11 and Jackson 6.
