Jake Jefcoat
Head Athletic Trainer, NEMCC

Northeast Mississippi Community College is very fortunate to have Jake Jefcoat serve as Head Athletic Trainer.

Jake was born in Laurel, Miss. on November 6, 1978, and graduated from West Jones High School in 1997. He then went to Jones County Junior College and later on to the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a BS degree in Athletic Training from USM in 2002, and a MS in Exercise Science from MSU in 2004.

After graduating from MSU, Jake completed a 14-month internship with the Cleveland Browns football team serving under the tutelage of Head Athletic Trainer Marty Lauzon.

After spending a little more than one year in Cleveland, Ohio, Jake decided that the Community College level was where he wanted to work. He came home to Mississippi to work for Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian serving as Head Athletic Trainer for East Mississippi Community College. He worked 18 months for Rush before receiving what he describes as, "this wonderful opportunity to work for NEMCC Sports."

When asked "what are the rewards you get out of being a part of Northeast Athletics", Jefcoat answers, "Knowing that my efforts in providing the best in sports medicine will continue the winning tradition that Northeast Mississippi Community College Athletics has developed."
