NEMCC TO HOLD OPEN BASEBALL TRYOUTS

 BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College head baseball coach Kent Farris will hold open tryouts for any unprotected and unsigned players who wish to earn a spot on the 2008 Northeast Tigers baseball team.

The first tryout date is set for this Friday, April 20, 2007, with another scheduled a week later on Friday, April 27. The third and final open Northeast baseball tryout will be held on Tuesday, May 1.

“As a coach, I want to see as many players as possible,” said Kent Farris, “and its one thing to talk to a kid, but it’s another to get a chance to see them on the field, on the mound, or at the plate. We’ve got some spots to fill and hopefully this tryout will help us do that.”

Each tryout session will begin at 1 p.m. at Harold T. White field in Booneville. Participants need to bring cleats and gloves only. All other equipment will be provided.
