MUSCLE SHOALS LEFTY HURLER SIGNS WITH NEMCC
April 25, 2007
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College head baseball coach Kent Farris announced on Wednesday that left handed pitcher Blake Yarbrough from Muscle Shoals, Ala. has signed a letter of intent to play for the Tigers of Northeast beginning in the fall of 2007.
Yarbrough, a high school senior, sports a 4-2 record this season for the Muscle Shoals Trojans who are 20-8 this season overall. The 6’2”, 200 lb hurler has faced 151 batters, given up 10 earned runs, struck out 32 batters, and given up no home runs, good enough to compile a 1.10 ERA.
“Blake has great potential,” said NEMCC Head Coach Kent Farris. “He’ll be able to come here and work on his velocity. He throws the ball hard already, but with his natural movement from the left side, and excellent breaking stuff, he will have an immediate impact on our staff for next season.”
Yarbrough brings his .667 winning percentage to a Northeast Tigers program who sported no left-handed pitchers on the 2007 roster.
