BOONEVILLE, Miss.--Northeast Mississippi Community College head baseball coach Kent Farris has released his team’s 2007 fall baseball schedule. The slate includes four dates, and games against eight different teams.
Farris’ Tigers will travel to Demopolis, Ala. on September 15 for the University of West Alabama Fall Bash which includes games against Lawson State (Ala.) and Marion Institute (Ala.)
On September 26 Northeast will be in action at New Hope High School in games versus Jones County Junior College and East Mississippi Community College.
The month of October will include two games each at the Jackson State University Invitational (October 6) and the Belhaven College Invitational (October 11).
“Fall games are important for several reasons,” Farris said. “The biggest advantage is the extra at bats our hitters get, and the live work in the field. There’s no substitution for live, game experience and that’s what our fall schedule does: gives us a jump heading into winter workouts.”
In all, Farris’ Tigers will face five teams from Mississippi, two from Alabama, and one from Louisiana during the fall season.
