BOONEVILLE, Miss.--Northeast Mississippi Community College head baseball coach Kent Farris was pleased with his team's performance during an 8-game fall schedule in which the Tigers went 6-1-1 and scored double-digit runs in all but one game.

Farris' bunch started the fall campaign with a double-header versus Marion Institute at the University of West Alabama Fall Bash on September 15. The Tigers came away with one win and one tie.

Later on September 26 in games played at New Hope High School the Tigers defeated MACJC foes Jones County Junior College, and East Mississippi Community College.

The month of October saw Northeast sweep two games at the Jackson State University invitational over Jones County, and Coahoma Community College, before splitting their games at Belhaven College on October 11 with a win over Baton Rouge CC, and a loss to Meridian CC.

"I'm pleased with the way we hit the baseball this fall," said Farris. "Our pitchers got a lot of work as a group, and I saw them improve as the fall schedule went on. I think we'll be a competitive team if we can stay healthy, and continue to improve before the spring."

Northeast will open the 2008 season on February 8, with a double-header versus Marion Institute (Ala.) at Harold T. White field in Booneville.
