BOONEVILLE, Miss.--Northeast Mississippi Community College head baseball coach Kent Farris has added Belmont High School senior Adam Kay to his list of signees for the class of 2008. Kay is a standout pitcher and outfielder for Coach Tony Sparks at Belmont.

“Adam is a solid, consistent right handed pitcher,” said Farris, “and he’ll definitely be able to help us there next year. He’s an in-district signee for us and we’re just glad he decided to go ahead and sign with us.”

Currently participating in his senior season as a Cardinal, Kay is 2-0 on the mound with 32 strikeouts in 21.3 innings pitched, with one save and a 2.63 ERA. At the plate in ’08 the senior outfielder is batting .233 with three home runs.
