HOT TIGERS WIN 9-OF-10; TOUGH STRETCH AHEAD

BOONEVILLE, Miss.--A huge challenge lies ahead for the red-hot Northeast Mississippi Community College baseball team, winners of four-straight and nine of the last ten games.

Kent Farris' Tigers (19-9, 2-0) grabbed two wins on the road on Thursday, March 27, with a double-header sweep over Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, 5-0 and 12-4. The 2nd year NEMCC head coach hopes his team's recent momentum will help as the Tigers jump back into division play on the road at Northwest CC on Saturday, March 29, followed by a trip to Itawamba CC on Tuesday, April 1.

"The stakes are about to go up," Farris states. "Division games are the keys to the postseason which is our ultimate goal. We're 2-0 (in division) right now and the two trips this week could be the biggest challenge of the season for us."

The Northwest Rangers (14-9-1, 2-0) are led by All-American shortstop Taylor Walker (Senatobia) who returns from last year's team that won the MACJC North Division title and eventually finished fourth at the 2007 NJCAA D-II College World Series.
