NEMCC MEN'S HOOPS PICKS UP TWO TRANSFERS
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College head men’s basketball coach David Robbins has announced the addition of junior college transfers Ken Moore (Northeast Community College, Nebraska) and Travis Lee (Florida Community College, Jacksonville) to the Tigers’ 2007-08 signing class.
Ken Moore, a 6’6” post player originally from Godby High School in Tallahassee, Fla., started in 30 games and averaged 12 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this past season at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska on a team that went 18-13. Prior to his freshman campaign in community college hoops, Moore was a First-Team All-State selection in the state of Florida following his senior season at Godby.
Travis Lee, a 5’10” point guard, was a teammate of Moore’s at Godby High School in Tallahassee and played this past season as a freshman at Florida Community College in Jacksonville, Fla. Lee started 27 of 28 games at FCC in 2006-07, shooting 41.2 percent from the field and averaging 9.6 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 steals per game from the point guard position. Lee was named All Big Bend in basketball and tennis during his career at Godby High School. Aside from being voted as the school’s Homecoming King his senior year, Lee sported the highest GPA on the basketball team, and was named the tennis team’s MVP.
“What a blessing these two signees are,” said NEMCC head coach David Robbins. “They’ve each had a year of experience playing at this level, and they both are really solid young men. Ken (Moore) has shown he can battle down low with players that are taller than him, but he’s got good enough height at 6’6”. Travis (Lee) is a quarterback on the floor and really knows how to get it done. He’s a winner and a leader.”
David Robbins plans to round out his 07-08 signing class over the next week.
