BRICE BECK CHOOSES LOUISIANA MONROE
February 7, 2007
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Brice Beck is 6'3", 235 lbs. and has a rocket arm, however the University of Louisiana-Monroe fans may see him catch more passes in 2007 than he throws.
Beck signed with the school on Monday, and says he's been signed as an athlete, which means most likely he'll be a tight end/fullback.
"I just want to be on the field," said Beck. "They're willing to give me a shot to do that. I've moved around a bit, from Iowa State, then here to Northeast. I'm looking forward to settling in down there and getting to work."
Northeast was fortunate to have Beck under center for only one season, and offensive coordinator David Wilkerson talks about toughness as being one of Brice's best qualities. "Above all he's tough as a knot," Wilkerson said. "He really had some tough injuries this past year, but he kept working and working. He'll be successful wherever he goes and whatever he does."
