FOURTEEN TIGERS TABBED "ALL-STATE"

October 30, 2007

JACKSON, Miss.-- Football coaches from all fourteen members of the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges (MACJC) showed great respect for coach Andy Greening's Tigers when they voted fourteen Northeast Mississippi Community College players onto the 2007 All-State team. Voting took place today at the annual MACJC coach's meeting in Jackson.

While no Tigers were selected as First Team All-State, six Northeast players were dubbed second team, and eight grabbed Honorable Mention status.

Offensively, Northeast was represented on the MACJC All-State 2nd team by sophomore offensive lineman Reggie Wade (Tuscumbia, Ala.), freshman offensive lineman Heath Blount (Cleveland), freshman quarterback Emanuel Francis (Tallahassee, FL), sophomore punter Jonathon Beard (Weir), sophomore defensive end Mario Addison (Birmingham, Ala.), and sophomore defensive back C.J. Foster (Tuscumbia, Ala.).

Northeast's Honorable Mention selections are sophomore linebacker Jerrell Nobles (Mobile, Ala.), freshman defensive tackle Emanuel Dudley (Columbus, GA), sophomore defensive back Marco Ewing (West Point), sophomore offensive lineman South Oakes (Courtland), sophomore offensive lineman Greg Magnifico (Olive Branch), sophomore tailback Cederian Drew (Greenville), sophomore defensive tackle B.J. Taylor (Tuscumbia, Ala.), and sophomore reciever Kenny Robey (Charleston).

"Even though we didn't win the games we wanted to," said Andy Greening, "we had some bright spots. Mario (Addison) led the league in tackles for losses with 21, and we had as many freshman recognized as any other team in our division. We're really proud of these kids and it says alot about the respect they earned this year for the coaches at these other schools to vote for them."

The Tigers failed to reach the postseason in 2007. Northeast will host the MACJC All-Star Football Classic at Keenum Stadium on Saturday, December 1, at 1 p.m.
