"TRIUMPHANT SPORTS BOWL" PICKS REGGIE WADE November 15, 2007 BOONEVILLE, Miss.--Reggie Wade (Tuscumbia, AL), a two-year starter at center for Andy Greening’s Northeast Tigers, has been chosen to participate in the Triumphant Sports Bowl in Mesa, Arizona, on Saturday, December 15. The junior college all-star game pits 55 of the nation’s best prospects against a 55-player team from California. Wade, a former standout at Deshler High School in northwest Alabama, will be one of 13 MACJC (Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges) players on the Team-USA roster. “Obviously, it’s a great honor to be asked to play in the game,” Wade said, “but it’s even more exciting to get a chance to practice and play in front of all the college coaches that will be there during the week. I know it’s going to lead to something good for me.” The 6’2”, 290 lb offensive lineman currently holds two scholarship offers from Division-I programs, as well as numerous offers from Division I-AA and Division II schools. Following his performance at the Triumphant Sports Bowl, Wade hopes to join a group of 43 former Northeast Tiger football players who have signed with Division-I and Division-II schools in the last three years. “Reggie was hands-down the best football player on our team the last two years,” said Northeast head coach Andy Greening. “He’s a super young man who we never had to worry about. He was always on time, never missed class, made good grades, and was just a pleasure to coach. We need to go out and sign a bunch more just like Reggie.” Wade will be joined on the Team-USA roster by one Northeast teammate, receiver Anthony Jones (Tallahassee, FL), who led the Tigers in receptions the last two seasons. First Team All-State and All-Region XXIII performer, running back LaGarrette Blount of East Mississippi Community College will also play for Team-USA. ###
