CHRIS NANCE INKS WITH MSU BULLDOGS
February 7, 2007
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- For Chris Nance it's a culmination of a lifetime of goals, dreams, and hard work. For Mississippi State it's an opportunity to fill a spot in their defensive backfield with an experienced player who is capable of playing immediately.
"I've waited for this for a long time," said Nance, a Tuscumbia, Alabama native. "I've always wanted to play in the SEC and now I'm going to get that chance. Coach Croom gave me an opportunity and I'm planning on making something good come out of it for both of us."
Nance is a two year starter for Northeast, was a 2nd team All-State selection following his sophomore season, and was third among MACJC defensive backs in 2006 with three interceptions.
Nance also returned kicks for the Tigers.
"I think Mississippi State will be very pleased with what they're getting in Chris," said Northeast coach Andy Greening. "He's a great kid. It's always yes sir and no sir with him. He's always on time. Plus, he's going to be a pleasant suprise for them on the field."
