BOONEVILLE'S BULLARD INKS WITH
NORTHEAST TIGERS GOLF
July 2, 2007
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College golf coach Craig Lauderdale signed Cory Bullard (Booneville) to a letter of intent on Monday, July 2. Bullard, who will tee it up for the Tigers beginning in the fall of 2007, becomes the fourth golf signee for Northeast since the team’s 11th place finish at the NJCAA D-III National Tournament a month ago.
“I’m really tickled that Cory chose to come across the street and play for us here at Northeast for the next two years,” said Lauderdale. “He’s got a ton of potential to go along with plenty of experience playing on good teams. Booneville had a great season this past year and Cory was a huge part of that.”
Bullard and high school teammate Riley Boren, also a recent NEMCC signee, led Booneville to the Division 1-3A Championship this past spring as well as a runner-up finish behind 3A State Champion Amory at the two-day, MHSAA State Tournament at River Birch Country Club in Amory.
“We had some pretty good success this past season,” said Bullard, “and so did Northeast. I kept up with how coach Lauderdale and the team were doing throughout the season because all along I felt I was going to be a Tiger after high school. It feels good to sign the letter and know that’s going to happen.”
Bullard carried a 38.5 nine-hole scoring average during his senior season at Booneville.
