4 BOONEVILLE H.S. SENIORS SIGN WITH NEMCC
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College golf coach Craig Lauderdale has signed four Booneville High School seniors to letters of intent to hit the links for NEMCC beginning in the fall of 2008. Dustin Bridges, Alex Downs, Blake Hatfield, and Brandon Robbins all signed with the Tigers recently.
“These boys know each other and play golf together quite a bit,” said Lauderdale. “That will be important in tournaments because they’ll understand how to work together. They’ve been part of successful teams at Booneville (High School) and we hope their success will continue with Northeast.”
Dustin Bridges carried a nine-hole average of 38.0 through his junior season at BHS in 2007, and is credited with a round of 75 at the Division 1-3A tournament at Hillandale Country Club in Corinth.
Alex Downs earned All-State honors at the 2007 3-A State Tournament in Riverburch Golf Club in Amory with rounds of 77 and 76. Downs carried a nine-hole average of 36.0 during his junior season for the Blue Devils.
Blake Hatfield was chosen to participate at the Exon BFI Junior Tournament in Greenville in 2007, and logged a 36.5 nine-hole average during his junior season.
Brandon Robbins played as a sophomore on Corinth High School’s 2006 3-A state championship team before transferring to Booneville H.S. Robbins averaged even-par 36.0 per nine-holes on the Coca-Cola junior tour in 2007. Brandon is the son of NEMCC head men’s basketball coach David Robbins.
Lauderdale’s 2007 NEMCC golf team will open the season on February 24-25, at the Hinds CC Invitational at Eagle Ridge Country Club in Raymond, Miss.
