2008 NEMCC Golf

BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College golf coach and reigning Region XXIII Coach Of The Year Craig Lauderdale will lead an inexperienced group onto the course during the 2008 season.

Derek Devaughn (Booneville) and Hunter Shipman (Kossuth) are the only returning members from last seasons Division III State/Region Championship team that finished 11th at the D-III National Tournament.

Freshmen Riley Boren (Booneville), Cory Bullard (Booneville), Carson Butler (Corinth), and J.T. Ferguson (Houston) make up the youth on this year's six-man team.

"We still have high hopes going into the season," said Lauderdale. "But I understand that it will be hard for this bunch to accomplish what last year's team did. Our biggest goal is to get better each tournament, and win the Division III title again. I believe we can accomplish that."
