BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College golf coach and reigning Region XXIII Coach Of The Year Craig Lauderdale is excited once again about the field of high school teams set to compete at the 2008 NEMCC Five County High School tournament at Shiloh Ridge Golf Club in Corinth on Monday, March 24.
Twelve teams from Alcorn, Prentiss, Union, Tippah, and Tishomingo counties will play: Alcorn Central, Baldwyn, Belmont, Booneville, Corinth, Jumpertown, Kossuth, New Albany, New Site, Ripley, Thrasher, and Tishomingo County.
"This tournament every year gives me a chance to see every team in our recruiting district play in one competitve tournament," said Lauderdale. "Plus, its great for the players because they get an early season look at the rest of the competition in the area. There will be several kids playing in the Five County tournament this year that will be Northeast Tigers in the near future."
Belmont won the 1A-2A tournament title last year, while Booneville won the 3A-4A competition.
