Booneville, Belmont Take Top Honors At 5C Tourney

BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Belmont and Booneville were the team winners at the annual Five County Golf Tournament on Monday at Booneville Country Club.
Northeast Mississippi Community College hosted the event for high school teams in Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union counties.
Belmont's Cardinals captured the 1A-2A tournament title with a team score of 334. Baldwyn finished second with a score of 365, followed by Thrasher (384), New Site (439), and Jumpertown (451).
In 3A-4A competition, Booneville successfully defended last year's title with a score of 322. In second place was Corinth (323), followed by New Albany (326), Ripley (336), Alcorn Central (337), Kossuth (348), and Tishomingo County (386).
Individual, overall medalist performers were Tucker Holmes of New Albany, and Trey Adams of Belmont each with an 18-hole round of 76.
The all-tournament team selections were Blake Hatfield of Booneville (78), Cameron Altman of Corinth (78), Nick Sparks of Belmont (79), Brandon Robbins of Booneville (79), and Garrett Whitehurst of Corinth (79).
