NEMCC GOLF CAPTURES D-III TITLE
Back-to-Back RegionXXIII Titles for Tigers (2007, 2008)

BOONEVILLE, Miss.--Northeast Mississippi Community College golfers captured Division III honors in the Region 23/MACJC Golf Tournament held April 28-29 at Forest Country Club.

The Tigers shot 637 (308-329) on the par 71 course. Team members and their respective scores include (from left) Riley Boren, 157 (74-83); Corey Bullard, 160 (79-81); Hunter Shipman (medalist), 154 (74-80); Derek DeVaughn, 166 (81-85); and Carson Butler, 185 (91-94). Also pictured is Coach Craig Lauderdale. Boren, Bullard, Shipman and DeVaughn also received All-Region honors. East Central Community College in Decatur served as tournament host.

Northeast head golf coach Craig Lauderdale was named Region XXIII Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.

The NEMCC golf team will compete at the National Association of Community/Junior Colleges (NJCAA) Division III National Tournament in Jamestown, N.Y., on June 3-6.
