NORTHEAST GOLF TEAM PLACES FOURTH AT SHILOH RIDGE
BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- Northeast Mississippi Community College’s golf team placed fourth at the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior College’s (MACJC) Shiloh Ridge Athletic Club event in Corinth on March 30-31.
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College took first place in the event by shooting a two-day score of 593 and was followed by East Mississippi with a score of 600. Third place went to Copiah-Lincoln’s golf team which shot a total of 603.
Northeast was able to take the fourth spot shooting a 606.
Rounding out the top ten was Hinds (303), Northwest (629), Itawamba (641), East Central (643), and Northeast junior varsity (644). The last spot went to Pearl River with a 645.
Top Individual scores for the Tigers were Alex Downs (Booneville) who shot a 148 (74-74), Blake Hatfield (Booneville) shot a 151 (71-80), Daniel Singh (Haleyville, Ala.) 153 (75-78), Tyler Parsons (Saltillo) 154 (76-78), and Brandon Robbins (Booneville) who rounded out the top five finishers for Northeast shot a 154 (73-81).
Northeast will head to Kirkwood National Golf Club in Holly Springs for the MACJC State Tournament on April 6-7 followed by the Region XXIII Tournament at the Mississippi State University Golf Course in Starkville.
