NORTHEAST WOMEN IMPROVE TO 3-0

BOONEVILLE, Miss.--  Defending MACJC State Champs and nationally ranked (No. 17) Northeast Lady Tigers basketball improved to 3-0 on the young season with a 78-67 win over Northwest Shoals Community College on Monday, November 5. The contest was the home opener for the Lady Tigers.

Freshman Eboni Crayton continued her pace of scoring over 20 points per game with 23 versus Northwest Shoals. The McNairy Central, Tenn. native led all scores.

Imie Hall (Brownsville, Tenn.) pitched in 18 points for Northeast while Anna McNair (Biggersville) added 11 points on a perfect night shooting. The freshman guard was 2 for 2 from the field, 1 for 1 from 3-point range, and 4 for 4 at the free throw line.

"It was a tough game, physically," said Northeast women's head coach Ricky Ford. "They harrassed our ball handlers all night. Our kids were worn out after this one. We're pretty fortunate to win this one, because it sure wasn't easy."

Northeast's women led by three, 40-37, at halftime, and outscored the Lady Patriots 38-30 in the second half.
