Former LSU-Eunice coach helped Tigers win World Series in 2006

BOONEVILLE, Miss. --Northeast Mississippi Community College head baseball coach Kent Farris recently announced the hiring of Clint McAuley as assistant baseball coach.
McAuley will replace Richy Harrelson who left the Tigers to join the University of Southern Mississippi baseball staff earlier this summer.

Prior to joining the Tigers, McAuley served as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Siena University in Loudonville, N.Y.

While with the Saints, McAuley helped the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference school to a 30-26 record in 2008 including a berth in the MAAC championship game against Rider. The Saints won their last 10 regular season games and 17 of their last 19 prior to entering the MAAC tournament.

McAuley already has experience in Region XXIII play.

Before joining Siena’s staff, McAuley was the pitching coach on the Louisiana State University at Eunice baseball team that won the 2006 NJCAA Division II. Under McAuley's guidance, the pitching corps posted a school record 2.07 ERA, including 465 strikeouts

Prior to his stay at Eunice, McAuley was an assistant coach at East Texas Baptist University, where he worked with the catchers and served as head coach of the JV squad.

A native of Winnsboro, Texas, McAuley played for ETBU, where he led the American Southwest Conference in doubles as a sophomore and was third in the conference in home runs that same season. McAuley was recognized by the conference as All-ASC East Division and was named honorable mention NCCAA All-American.

McAuley completed his career at ETBU as the eighth ranked player in school history with a .367 batting average. McAuley was also a pitcher for the Tigers, posting a career ERA of 2.35 before transferring to Texas Tech University a year later.

McAuley graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in history. He also holds a Master's degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy.

McAuley's previous coaching positions included a stint with the Bluff City Bombers of the Central Illinois Collegiate League. The Bombers captured a CICL title under his guidance in 2004. McAuley was also a volunteer assistant at Lubbock Monterey High School and the head coach of a Connie Mack team that earned a berth in the Connie Mack State Championship Tournament..
