February 2 , 2007 LATE TIGERS' COMEBACK FALLS SHORT FULTON, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College’s men’s basketball team came into Thursday nights game at Itawamba Community College riding a three-game winning streak. However, the home Indians put an emphatic end to the Tigers’ streak, leading by as much as 25 points at one time, and grabbing a ten point victory over Northeast, 74-64. Northeast’s Jeremy Anderson upped his season average from 15.2 to 15.9 points per game with a 26 point effort against Itawamba. Twenty of Andersons 26 came in the second half during a ferocious comeback effort from Coach David Robbins’ Northeast men. The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-15, 2-5 and makes Monday night’s game against Coahoma Community College even more critical for Northeast, as they fight for one of the top four spots in the North Division that would send them to the state tournament on February 26-March 1. Tip-off between Northeast and Coahoma is set for 8 p.m. The women’s game will be played earlier that night at 6 p.m. Both games can be heard live on WKZU, 102.3 FM, or on live streaming audio at www.kudzu102.com. ###
