ROBBINS ADDS 6'9" WILBANKS TO ROSTER

BOONEVILLE, Miss.--  Northeast Mississippi Community College head men’s basketball coach David Robbins has added another local standout to his 2007 signing class. MaCay Wilbanks is listed as a 6’9”, 230 lb center from Kossuth High School who signed a letter of intent today to suit up in Northeast Tigers’ black and gold beginning in the fall of ’07.

“MaCay has outstanding size,” said Robbins, who just completed his second season at Northeast. “It’s not often that you have a 6’9” post player right here in your own district. We’ve followed MaCay’s career at Kossuth playing for coach (Mike) Lewis. We feel he’ll really help us next season.”

As a senior during the 2006-07 season, Wilbanks averaged 15.9 points per game, along with 8.3 rebounds.

“MaCay will work hard for Coach Robbins,” Kossuth head coach Mike Lewis said. “With his size and ability, MaCay’s potential in tremendous.”

The 6’9” post player shot 51% from the field in ’07, and knocked down 66% of his free throw attempts.

Following his senior season, Wilbanks was named 1st Team All Alcorn County, All-Region 1-3A, and was selected to play in the NEMCA All-Star Game.
