ROBBINS LANDS LOUISIANA STAR

BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College head men’s basketball coach David Robbins has signed one of Louisiana’s top basketball prospects to a letter of intent to play for the Tigers next season.

Adrian Caldwell is a senior at Marion High School (LA) who made a name for himself on the basketball court as the school’s 2nd all-time leading scorer with 2,835 career points.

“Adrian has all the tools to be a great player for us here at Northeast,” said Robbins. “His high school numbers speak for themselves. Adrian had several options and I’m just glad he chose to be a Tiger next season.”

Caldwell gave opponents fits this past season to the tune of 30.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and 3.0 assists per game. The 6’1 guard scored 1,085 points during his senior campaign, the 2nd most in a season in MHS history.

A two-time All-State selection as a junior and senior, Caldwell was also named All-State by the LHSCA (Louisiana High School Coaches Association), District 2-B Most Valuable Player, and Union Parish Most Valuable Player. Following his senior campaign, Caldwell was selected to play in the LHSAA (Louisiana High School Athletic Association)/LHSCA All-Star Game in Houma, LA.
