 DAILY JOURNAL ALL-AREA PERFORMER SIGNS WITH NORTHEAST SOFTBALL

 BOONEVILLE, Miss.--  Pine Grove High School senior outfielder, Samantha Thunderburk, has signed a letter of intent to play fast-pitch softball for coach Jody Long at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

Thunderburk is a five-year starter for coach Cliff Orman at Pine Grove High. As a junior, Thunderburk batted .360 with three home runs and 22 RBI earning a spot on the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal All-Area team. Following her junior season (2006), the All-Area performer was named MHSAA Division 2-1A Most Valuable Player.

Thunderburk, currently a senior at Pine Grove H.S., will enroll at Northeast Mississippi Community College in the fall of 2007.
