MYRTLE HIGH SCHOOL OUTFIELDER SIGNS WITH NORTHEAST
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Myrtle High School outfielder Charlie Medlin signed a letter of intent today to play fast-pitch softball for Northeast Mississippi Community College beginning in the fall of 2007, Northeast coach Jody Long announced today.
Medlin, a senior at Myrtle, is the second signee this week for Jody Long and the Northeast Tigers.
During her junior season under coach Keith Speck at Myrtle, Medlin sported a .506 batting average, a slugging percentage of .709, drove in 33 runs with two home runs, three triples and six doubles, while stealing 14 bases.
“Charlie is a great hitter,” said Jody Long. “She will immediately add to the middle of our lineup as soon as she steps onto the Northeast campus. Plus, she has an excellent arm from the outfield, so I’m obviously excited that Charlie chose Northeast”.
