TISHOMINGO CO. STANDOUT CHOOSES NORTHEAST

BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College head softball coach Jody Long has added Tishomingo County High School senior Devin Reader to his list of 2008 signees. Reader is a pitcher/infielder and was a three-year starter for the Lady Braves’ fastpitch team.

“Devin has the attitude that a coach wishes all his players had,” said TCHS softball coach Malcolm Brown. “She gives 110% at every practice, every game. Jody (Long) is getting one heck of a player in Devin.”

Reader posted a 3.06 ERA over her junior and senior seasons compiling 160 innings pitched and only giving up 70 runs and one homerun in two years. She accumulated 153 strikeouts and a 17-8 won/loss record on the mound during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

At the plate, Reader averaged .399 at the plate during her four-year career with 107 hits, 25 doubles, six triples, and three homeruns with 79 RBI in 268 at bats.

Reader was named All-Division 1-4A following the 2006, 2007, and 2008 seasons.
