EAST UNION INFIELDER SIGNS WITH NORTHEAST
BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- East Union High School senior Beth Reed has signed letter of intent to play fast-pitch softball for Coach Jody Long at Northeast Mississippi Community College.
Reed, a corner infielder (1B, 3B) for the Urchins, batted .529 during her junior season made up of 27 hits, ten doubles, three triples, three home runs, 21 RBI, and no strikeouts. As a left-handed pitcher, Reed led East Union with a 9-5 record during 2006, and was named a Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal All-Area First Team selection as a junior.
Reed is currently a Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee as a senior for her work in the classroom as well as on the softball field.
