EAST UNION OUTFIELDER SIGNS WITH NORTHEAST

BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- East Union High School senior Kristy Wages has signed letter of intent to play fast-pitch softball for Coach Jody Long at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

Wages, an outfielder for Brad Brown at East Union, finished the 2006 season with a .694 batting average. In 36 at bats she had 25 hits which included seven doubles, three triples, one home run and no strike outs. Wages, who played on the 2004, 2005, and 2006 ASA National Championship teams, was named a Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal First-Team performer following her junior season for the Urchins.

Wages will enroll at Northeast in the fall of 2007.
