BOONEVILLE, Miss.-- Northeast Mississippi Community College has added another local standout fast-pitch softball player to its 2007 signing class. Addy Brown, a catcher at Tishomingo County High School, has signed a letter of intent to play for Coach Jody Long and the Northeast Tigers beginning in the fall of 2007.
Brown is a high school senior and has been a starter on three straight division 1-4A championship teams at Tishomingo County High School.
As a freshman in 2004, Addy hit .328 with 14 RBI and one home run. As a sophomore she improved her batting average to .384, and as a junior for the Lady Braves in 2006 Brown drove in 16 runs, and crossed the plate 25 times while only striking out five times in 68 plate appearances.
Heading into her senior season at Tishomingo County, Brown’s career numbers include a .357 batting average, 55 runs scored, 51 RBI, and three home runs.
In addition to leading her Tishomingo County teams to three straight division 1-4A championships, Brown was voted All-Division 1-4A in 2005 and 2006, and was named a Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee in 2007 for her excellence on the softball field as well as in the classroom.
