BELMONT H.S. CATCHER SIGNS WITH NORTHEAST SOFTBALL
BELMONT, Miss.-- Belmont High School fastpitch softball player Heather Sparks signed a letter of intent with Northeast Mississippi Community College on Monday, March 26, 2007.
Heather, a senior, is the starting catcher for the Cardinals. She also plays second base for coach Chris Higginbottom.
“Heather is an asset to our team,” Higginbottom said. “She is a leader on the field. She works very hard in and out of practice. She has a good attitude and wants the best for the team. Heather is well deserving of this scholarship because of her hard work and dedication toward improving her level of play.”
Sparks has a .285 batting average so far in 2007 and has driven home six runs for the Cardinals. She has been a participate in fastpitch softball at Belmont High School for five years.
