NORTHEAST SOFTBALL SET FOR THREE SCRIMMAGES AT NORTHWEST
BOONEVILLE, Miss. – Northeast Mississippi Community College’s softball team will go for ‘third time’s the charm,” when the Lady Tigers try for the third time to get in three fall scrimmages at Northwest Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Northwest’s play date was originally set for Sept. 19 but was moved to Sept. 23 due to inclement weather. But, with the drenching that the north Mississippi area took over the past two weeks, the competition was moved a week later to Sept. 30.
Northeast will play back-to-back-to-back contests at Senatobia City Park on Wednesday, September 30.
The Lady Tigers kick off their fall bout with East Central Community College at 1 p.m. before playing perennial south division power Pearl River at 2:30 p.m. Northeast rounds out its trio of contests against rival Itawamba Community College at 4 p.m.
Northeast finished the 2009 season with an 18-22 record but sported a 13-11 record in North Division play and advanced to the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges’ 2009 State Tournament.
