DECA Alumni Association
Anyone who has ever held membership in any division of DECA Inc. can join the Alumni Association. As a member you have the opportunity to help your community and DECA on the local, state, and national level. Your commitment helps ensure the continued success of our organization.
The main purpose for the Alumni Association is to provide guidance and support to DECA and provide an avenue for continued personal and professional growth for the alumni.
Mississippi DECA Alumni Division 2007-08
State Officers:
President - Robin Niles, Columbus
Vice President- Lisa Wilbourn, Grenada
Secretary- Barbara Nielsen, Drew
Reporter- Kristi Nielsen, Oxford
Coordinator- Tim Gilmore, Booneville
Chairman of the Board- Jim Bowers, Jackson
Short Term Goals:
-To manage a sponsorship drive to get $250.00 sponsorships for the High School Division and a $250.00 sponsorships for the Delta Epsilon Chi Division. (Alumni Goal: 4 DECA & 3 DELTA)
-To raise funds for a $250.00 scholarship for the High School Division and a $250.00 scholarship for the Delta Epsilon Chi Division.
-To organize the communication efforts within the Alumni Division. (e-mail database & web-site)
-To increase active membership in the Alumni Division and participation at conferences. (Recruit Retiree Participation)
-To support the Mississippi DECA Foundation.
Long Term Goals:
-Increase and maintain the sponsorship program efforts.
-Increasing the scholarship funding to $500.00 for the High School Division and increasing to $500.00 for the Delta Epsilon Chi Division.
-Set up a speakers’ bureau to assist local chapters in their program planning.
-Assist in the development of a judge list.
