- Words and Phrases You Will Need to Know

- Major - A primary designated course of study that leads to a college
degree.
- Degree -An Academic title that is awarded to someone who has completed
a given course of study.
- Credit Hours – The approximate average number of hours
spent in a
course in one week.

- Classes meet on a set schedule, not every day.
- MWF – Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- TTH – Tuesday, Thursday
- Full time – 12 hours per semester is typically classified as
full time.
- Part time – Anything less than that is part time.

- These programs are offered for students who plan to transfer to a Senior
College to earn a four year degree.
- Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- GED
- ACT
- An Associate of Arts Degree will be awarded upon completion of core
requirements.

- This degree is awarded at Northeast.
- A student must earn a minimum of 63 semester hours which are applicable
toward a Bachelor’s Degree and
- earn a GPA of at least 2.0

- Programs offered for students who will seek employment upon completion
of program. All programs are
designed to be completed here, however transfer of credit is at
discretion of receiving university.

- Awarded to students who complete requirements in Technical programs
- A student must complete designated number of semester hours and
- earn a minimum GPA of 2.0
