Tool and Die Making Technology presents the theories and machining skills which are basic to tools and die occupations. Graduates will have the qualifications of an advanced apprentice in tool and die making.
Students are trained on the latest high-tech equipment including Wire Electronic Discharge Machine (Ona-Prima 250) and Vertical Training Center (Mazak VTC-16)
Major Courses Required: Power Machinery I & II; Die Repair; Fundamentals of Drafting; Computer Numerical Control I, II & III; Die Design I & II; Principles of Computer Aided Design or Industrial Hydraulics; Die Making I, II & III; Metallurgy; Jigs, Fixtures & Toolos and a Special Project. This program provides a welding component that includes gas metal arc (MIG), gas tungsten arc (TIG) and shielded metal arc (stick). Eighteen hours of general academic core courses are added to these.
