PHI THETA KAPPA OFFICERS INSTALLED AT NEMCC --
Officers of the Iota Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Northeast
Mississippi Community College for 2008-2009 were recently
installed in a ceremony conducted by the 2007-2008 officers.
Installed were front row (l-r) Samantha Garrett, Baldwyn, co-vice
president of leadership; Stephanie Kiddy, Corinth, recording
secretary; Lanna Durst, Rolling Fork, co-vice president of
fellowship; Sara Beth Lockhart, Falkner, historian; Jessi Davis,
Booneville; co-vice president of service; Megan May, Saltillo,
historian; Katie Moore, Falkner, treasurer; and Brittney Reaves,
Falkner, newsletter editor; and back row (l-r) Joshua George,
Booneville, special projects chair; Cody Swindle, Corinth, co
vice president of service; Matthew Henderson and Cade Wilkerson,
both of Booneville, co-vice presidents of scholarship; Adam

Advisors for the chapter are Dr. Ray Harris, Andrea Honeycutt,
and Barbara Shackelford, all of Booneville, and Dr. Susan Scott
of Corinth.
Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, headquartered in
Jackson, Mississippi, is the largest honor society in American
higher education with 1,250 chapters on two-year and community
college campuses in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Germany,
the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the
Federated States of Micronesia, the British Virgin Islands, the
United Arab Emirates and U.S. territorial possessions. More than
two million students have been inducted since its founding in
1918, with approximately 100,000 students inducted annually.
Recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges, Phi
Theta Kappa is the official honor society of two-year colleges.
Northeasts Iota Zeta chapter is a five-star chapter, the
highest rating attainable, and was recently named a Top 100
chapter in the international society for 2007-08.
