This course will focus on assisting the nursing student to develop study skills/techniques to enhance academic success.

Objectives for the course:

 

a.    Practice reading nursing text assignments, picking out important details and then making outline notes on the text.

b.   Review study techniques for lecture and clinical/lab.

c.    Practice taking multiple choice exams.

d.   Review test-taking strategies for taking multiple choice exams.

e.    Utilize critical thinking strategies while completing activities for sample nursing lecture and clinical/lab content.

f.     Examine ways to manage time more efficiently.

g.    Explore methods used to take effective notes.

h.    Identify learning style and list effective study techniques for the learning style.
