Social & Behavioral Sciences Profile

       The Social and Behavioral Sciences includes the departments of Education, Sociology & Social Work, Political Science, History, Psychology, Health, and Family & Consumer Sciences.  The academic major programs within each discipline include curricula requirements for both university/college transfer and the Associate of Arts degree.  Specific programs are listed below with links to their respective departments and degree program requirements.

    There are nine full-time faculty and thirteen adjunct faculty within the Social and Behavioral Sciences departments.  Faculty member's interests cover a range of teaching, service (college, community, and professional organizations) and scholarly activities.  See each faculty member's web page for individual interests and activities.

    The division offers the opportunity for students to participate in a number of student organizations, such as, the Northeast Psychology Club (NEPC) and Future Educators of America (FEA).  Students may also link to and join their discipline’s professional associations and organizations from club web sites, such as, the American Psychological Association (APA) and in the near future, Psi Beta (the national honor society in psychology).
