The Forestry Technology Program is primarily designed to prepare a person to be employed as a forest technician.  Forest technicians cruise timber, mark timber for sales, supervise or perform forest management activities, and work in timber harvesting or processing operations.

Forest technicians may also assist in forest protection, and park or wildlife management.

Field exercise provide "hands on" learning of forest inventory and management techniques.

Best management practices and sustainable forestry principles are incorporated in forest management courses.
