Congratulations, you've taken the first step in completing your education. We are glad that you are using this key to open the door to your future. Below you will see the next steps that you need to take.
Find the adult education/GED class nearest you and contact the teacher for enrollment dates and times. Enrollment includes a 4-hour diagnostic testing session to determine strengths and weaknesses.
You and your class instructor will work together on weaknesses to prepare you for GED testing. This includes instruction and testing to measure progress.
Complete the 4-hour Official GED Practice Test. Minimum scores of 410 on each of 5 Parts plus an overall average of 450 are recommended for proceeding to step 4. For 16-17 year olds, minimum scores of 450 on each of the 5 parts are required.
Complete pre-registration requirements for GED testing.
  • Notarized GED application
  • Valid Mississippi Driver's License or Photo Identification Card
  • Non-refundable Testing Fees ( must be money order)
    • $40.00 - initial testing fee for all five subjects
    • $12.00 retesting fee - per subject area
  • Other GED information forms, as required
