Groups participate in Campus Clean Up Day

They may not be your momma and former Mississippi First Lady Pat Fordice was nowhere to be seen but a trio of student groups joined together to keep the Northeast campus litter free.

Phi Theta Kappa, Delta Epsilon Chi and the Student Government Association teamed up with Keep America Beautiful for Campus Clean Up Day. The program fell under PTK’s “Operation Green” program.

“It consisted of spreading out around campus and picking up trash,” said PTK Co-President Joel Barron. “At Wright Hall, we cleaned up and pruned the plants.”

Approximately 25 NEMCC students, faculty and staff joined in the two-hour clean-up effort.
