Aloha means hello and good-bye.
And a few local high school girls will be saying hello to the beautiful state of Hawaii and good-bye to the hills of Mississippi.
Northeast athletic director and women’s basketball coach Ricky Ford is looking for a few more few more girls to fill up his girls’ basketball team that is set to compete in Honolulu, Hawaii during the summer.
Each summer, Ford coaches a team of 15-to-19 year old high school girls at the King Kamehameha Classic. This year’s event will take place on June 24-July 1. Spots are still available for any high school female basketball player ages 15-19.
“As you can imagine it’s a wonderful experience each summer,” said Ford. “It’s also great competition for the girls on the team. We still have a few spots to fill on our roster, but once the word gets out those spots will fill up fast.”
Those interested in competing at the King Kamehameha Classic should contact Ford at either 662.210.0576, or 662.720.7302, no later than April 15.
