In June 2005 Crow's Neck, partnering with Delta State University, launched the "Stories of the Delta" Teachers' Workshop with grant money awarded from the National Park Service (NPS). Since then, the generosity of the local Tri-State Foundation has kept the hugely popular workshop alive.
30 teachers each year have attended the week-long, residential workshop which focuses on the themes of the NPS's Lower Mississippi Delta Initiative. Themes include the American Civil War, the African-American Experience, local cultural resources and natural history. Crow's Neck's famous Cooperation Course, Project Leaning Tree, and Private Eye are also featured. CEU's and graduate credits are available.
