Site Mission |
| Statistically Mississippi often appears last when ranked
with the other states. However, the numbers do not reveal the
significant contributions the people of Mississippi have made to the state
and to the nation. Mississippians have changed the face of American
life in science, art, industry ,athletics, and entertainment. The purpose of this site is to spotlight the accomplishments of some of these extraordinary people. It is not possible to include everyone we would like to write about, but as time permits and this page evolves, we plan to add others from what is an extremely long list of notable people. We have begun with representatives from a wide variety of fields, backgrounds, and areas of the state. Neither can we cover in detail the lives of these famous Mississippians, but we hope that our comments will inspire all viewers to further research. |
