Ann Downing, a gospel music singer who has been singing for five decades, and is still going strong.

Ann was born in Pittsboro, Mississippi, in 1945 to Lillie and Ernest Sanders. Right after high school Ann Downing started touring with the Speer Family, and this was a key turning point in her long singing career.

The first year that Ann and husband Paul formed "The Downings", she received the Dove Award for Female Vocalist. The Dove Award is given to honor the best in Christian Music every year. Ann Downing is also in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
