Freddie Little was born in Picayune, MS, on April 25, 1936. He attended college at Dilliard from 1957 until 1961. Little began his boxing career in his first year at Dilliard.
Little was inducted into the
Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 1995 for holding a WBC and WBA World Junior
Middleweight Boxing Title in 1969. He is also a member of the Nevada State
Boxing Commission.
From 1957 until his retirement from boxing in 1972, Little won a total of 53 fights, 36 of which were by knockout. He had 7 losses and 2 no contests. The fight that marked Little's retirement was held on July 6, 1972, in Stateline, Nevada. The fight ended in a knockout in the seventh round against Billy Walker.
