A chemist by the name of Harry A. Cole invented and sold the pine-scented cleaning product which is now call Pine-Sol.  Cole was from Jackson, Mississippi, and began making his product in 1929. Pine-Sol is now the biggest selling household cleaning agent in the world.

Cole also invented other pine oil cleaners such as Fyne Pine and Pine Plus. 

Cole and his sons created their own company calling it  H.A. Cole Products Co. and manufactured and sold his own products. Cole later sold his product, Pine-Sol, to the company that is now known as Clorox Company. Today Pearl, Mississippi, is the place where Pine-Sol is manufactured for the world.
