Sela Ann Ward was born on July 11, 1956, in Meridian, Mississippi. Her parents were Granberry Holland, an electrical engineer, and Annie Kate Ward. She had three siblings: Jenna born in October 1957, Berry born in 1959, and Brock born in 1961. Sela graduated in 1977 from the University of Alabama and was an art and advertising major. While attending college, she was a cheerleader and a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Her first job was in the advertising department at Pepsi. Sela’s first commercial was for Maybaline Makeup. She was married to Howard Elliot Sherman on May 23, 1992. Sela is now known well on the NBC TV show Sisters, and the ABC show Once and Again. Among other awards, Sela is a two time Emmy Award winning actress.
